Anxiety Is Building…
Approximately three weeks until our 2017 crush.
Keep an eye out for details in the days leading up to crush and press.
Happy Labor Day
September Pre-Harvest Social…
Less than one week to go. Saturday, September 9th, 4-6pm. This is our celebratory pre-harvest social for Coop members and their guests. As always, couples are asked to bring a small appetizer, and in case you are new to our tradition, singles can mooch.
I had a call from Cajun Bob last week letting me know he and the Note Worthies are unfortunately unable to do our gig. He reassured me that they were not being anti-social, but simply a conflict arose. Fortunately, we have a new trio named, The Walrus and the Carpenter, a popular Cape Cod Band, to fulfill our auditory pleasures. Not only that, the leader of the pack, Gerry, is a new coop member. Not only is he talented, he is smart!
Again, parking is always an issue in our complex. Please do not block other bays. I urge you to make attempts to car pool or Uber if possible.
No Coop Wine Pickup at the Social…
As a reminder, I have decided not to have Coop members’ pickup their wine reserves during the 4-6pm social timeframe. Please bein touch to get your vino virtually any other time.
Rapture, our 100% Sangiovese, and Amore, our Super Tuscan blend, are now history. I will be increasing our grape order by 3 tons to accommodate the interest in these two wines for 2018.
2017 Coop Signup…
As a reminder, the Coop season begins on September 1st and ends August 31st. If you have not done so, come by to pick up your current reserve from last year and then consider signing up for the following year. When doing so, and as a token of my appreciation for joining the next Coop season early, I provide a thank you gift. As with last year, the incentive gift will be two extra bottles of wine of my selection. This incentive offer will be provided through the Thanksgiving weekend.
A guy stuck his head in the barber shop and asked the barber how long until he could get a haircut? The barber, looked around the crowded shop and said, “about two hours.” The man left.
A few days later the same guy poked his head in the barber shop and asked the barber how long until he could get a haircut? The barber, looked around the crowded shop and said, “about three hours.” The man left.
About a week later the same guy poked his head in the barber shop and asked the barber how long until he could get a haircut? The barber, looked around the crowded shop and said, “about one and a half hours.” The man left.
After that, the barber turned to his friend and said, “Hey Bob, follow that man and see where he goes. He always asks how long for a haircut but he never comes back.”
A little while later Bob returned laughing hysterically. The barber asked Bob, “So where does he go when he leaves the shop?” Bob looked up, wiped tears from his eyes and said, “Your house!”
Drink my wine my friends,
Our 2017 Coop…
Level 1(2 case reserve) $190. per case
Level 2 (3-9 case reserve) $180. per case
Level 3(10 or more case reserve) $170. per case
Individual bottles,beyond a reserve, $16. each
Winemaker recommendation…to get back to a $180. per case rate, consider Level 2.
FYI:To be consistent going forward, when a Coop member elects to take half of their reserve before picking up the remainder, they will be charged 50% of their discounted price for their remaining reserve. As an example, in a two case reserve, if the case price was $190., and they take one case before the second, they will incur an addition $95., thus leaving a balance on the second case of $95.
